Hospital

We are home from the hospital and Xander's surgery went wonderful. He just ate a 4 oz bottle and has kept all but one of his feedings down (the doctor says that it is normal to throw up a little afterwards). He is in great spirts and very smiley.

On Wednesday I took him to the doctor because he was throwing up most of his feedings. The doctor examined him and then Xander had an ultrasound at St. John's. It confirmed that he had pyloric stenosis. This basically means that the tube between his stomach and his intestines (the pyloric) was narrowing (stenosis). The muscle had grown too fast and cut off the tunnel; so no food went down- it only came up. Xander was admitted and had the surgery later that night (Wednesday) at 7:45. Both the doctor and the surgeon said that he did wonderful and the surgery was a success. He got to taste grape today- the tylenol is grape flavored.

All day Wednesday Xander was wonderful- sleeping and laughing, depsite the IV, not eating, and being poked and prodded. But he is very happy to be home and able to eat again.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and words of encouragment. It really means so much to Steve and I.

See you soon.
